Welcome to Mount Auburn
A PLACE OF INSPIRATIONAL BEAUTY and COMFORT
Founded in 1831, Mount Auburn’s mission has always been to inspire all who visit, comfort the bereaved, and commemorate the dead in a landscape of exceptional beauty.

Spring Tribute Clean Sweep
Clean Sweep Begins the week of April 28th
To maintain this place of exceptional beauty, there are times when we remove all the tributes from the cemetery as we perform the important work of landscape care. The next thorough tribute clean-up, sometimes called a Clean Sweep, will begin the week of April 28th.

Road Closures at Halcyon Lake
If you visit this week you may notice that some of the roads around Halcyon Lake are closed to cars. And if you are on foot please watch where you step. The warm weather is causing American Toads to migrate en masse down to the pond to breed and lay their fertilized eggs in the water.
Eggs laid this week will hatch in a few days and then the larvae will feed on algae and vegetation in the water, metamorphose into toadlets, and emerge back onto land in late May or early June.
