Summer SOLSTICE: Deep Listening Tour

Join 2023 Winter SOLSTICE Thought Artist, Deb Todd Wheeler for a deep listening tour of the Mount Auburn grounds.

Walking and Listening: an invitation to consider the Solstice’s mix.

At this solstice moment, the earth’s tilt toward the sun reaches its peak, and we celebrate the end of New England springtime energy with a much needed pause. This session aims to nourish our ears, and invite our bodies to soak in the sounds of the solstice’s mix: bird calls, car horns, our own thoughts, trees in the wind. Drawing from the work of sound composer Pauline Oliveros, this session will engage in a series of Deep Listening exercises to prepare the body for walking and listening.

Check-in for the tour will be outside Bigelow Chapel.
