A Writing, A Reading with Poet & Artist in Residence Emily Duggan

In this two-part poetry event, participants can head to Asa Gray Garden between 1:00-3:00 PM to take home a customized poem by poet and 2025-26 Artist-in-Residence Emily Duggan. Throughout 2025, Emily has been stationed at various sites throughout the landscape, inviting visitors to share their stories, feelings, connections to, and memories of Mount Auburn and writing poems on the spot for guests to take home. This will be Emily’s last day in the landscape as an Artist-in-Residence.
From 3:30-4:15 PM, participants are invited to join Emily at Bigelow Chapel for a reading of a selection of the (over 50) poems she has written for visitors to the Cemetery during her residency, followed by a brief Q&A with Cemetery staff.
Guests are welcomed to attend one or both parts of the event. No registration is required.
