As part of our goal to provide families with better service, we are excited to introduce our new Cemetery Services Newsletter. Through this newsletter, we will keep you informed about important Cemetery news, upcoming events, and initiatives that will introduce even greater welcome, beauty, and service for all who visit Mount Auburn. We welcome your ideas and suggestions about what you’d like to see in future newsletters and look forward to staying connected with you!
This July, we convened a special meeting of our Lot Proprietors and Lot Representatives to approve Restated Articles of Organization.
We are pleased to share that the Restated Articles were approved by the Commonwealth—an important milestone that helps us to strengthen our organization and better serve our community with dedication and care.
Lot & Grave Care Updates
Clean Sweep Starts October 7th
We will be conducting a thorough cleanup of all tributes starting the week of October 7th. The removal process will continue throughout the week. These clean sweeps, which happen at least four times a year, are for lawn maintenance and safety. The sweep in October is specifically to assist in leaf cleanup efforts. Save the Date! Winter Tributes
Starting November 1st, you can visit our online store to choose from a selection of seasonal tributes. These tributes will be available for pre-order until November 26th and will be placed graveside beginning December 4th. Please note that purchases are online only. Please send questions to clientrelations@mountauburn.org
Seasonal Work Ending
As we prepare for the colder weather, all monument setting, inscription work and memorial washing in 2024 will conclude by Veterans Day. If you would like to place a work order for next spring or follow up on any outstanding work orders, please reach out to our Client Relations team.

Story Chapel Columbarium Refresh with New Accessible Ramp
We are pleased to announce the completion of a new accessible ramp to enter the Story Chapel Columbarium from Fountain Ave. Along with the ramp installation, we have refreshed the interior of the columbarium with new paint, lighting fixtures, furniture, and signage. The Columbarium is open to visitors every day from 8:30AM to 4:30PM.
Join us for SOLSTICE
We’re excited to announce that our Annual SOLSTICE event will be returning this December! Our beloved candle lighting tradition and community message board installation both return for this year’s SOLSTICE. In addition, we are thrilled to welcome two new light and sound artworks designed specifically for our landscape. This year, we are offering special private areas to rent for families and friends to gather, enjoy the event, and indulge in food and warm beverages.
