World War I Remembrance Day

September 6, 2017

Starting a year after official U. S. entry in the Great War in April 1917, the American Expeditionary Force fought just six months from its first major engagement in May 1918 to the end of the war in November 1918, but in that short time amassed over 100,000 battle and other dead and 200,000 wounded.  Join volunteer docent Stephen Pinkerton in a remembrance of Mount Auburn Cemetery’s World War I casualties on the 98th anniversary of Veteran’s Day.  Meet at the Flag Pole on Meadow Road.
