Mount Auburn Book Club: Red Tails in Love

August 15, 2015

In advance of Valentine’s Day we will discuss a wildlife love story that takes place in Central Park: Red Tails in Love: Pale Male’s Story – A True Wildlife Drama in Central Park by Marie Winn.  Mount Auburn has also had its share of urban wildlife couples over the years including Great Horned Owls and Red-tailed Hawks.  In addition to hawk behavior this book provides an inside look at the lives and habits of bird-watchers.

Each month, the Mount Auburn Book Club meets to discuss a selected work related to one of Mount Auburn’s many facets.  Selections range from books on history, natural history, horticulture, art, architecture, preservation, and wildlife to books written by or about those now buried and commemorated here.  The Book Club meets on the second Thursday of each month.  Coffee and tea are provided.

Funding for programs has been provided in part by the Massachusetts Cultural Council.
