Fanny Longfellow 200

March 30, 2017

October 6, 2017 is the 200th anniversary of the birth of Frances Appleton Longfellow. The Longfellow House-Washington’s Headquarters National Historic Site staff and partners are working to plan a full year of fun, exciting, and informative programming highlighting the many different aspects of the life of this fascinating woman. By meeting her as an amateur artist, poetic partner and muse, avid reader, and doting mother, we hope to encourage a greater appreciation of her and her life. For a full list of events visit the Fanny Two-Hundred homepage.

Three of these events are in partnership with the Friends of Mount Auburn

April 8, 1 PM: Pioneer to Less Suffering Walking Tour

April 13, 10 AM: Mount Auburn Book Club: The Appletons of Beacon Hill

July 15, 10:30 AM: So Many Pleasures & One Awful Tragedy
