DESCRIPTION:Join licensed raptor rehabilitators Julie Anne Collier and Jim Parks as they lead a live educational program on Raptors of the Northeast. \n\n\n\n\nJulie and Jim of WINGMASTERS will introduce attendees to live birds of prey native to New England. This presentation will explain predation\, the birds’ place at the top of the food web\, their different hunting adaptations and their status in a rapidly changing world. \nTwo sessions are being offered on Sunday\, August 23 at 10:30am and1:00pm. Raptors can also boast the best eyesight and the sharpest hearing in the animal kingdom. Raptors include hawks\, falcons and owls\, and this presentation\, which incorporates 6-7 LIVE birds of prey\, all native to New England\, gives an overview of these different categories. The program is designed to explain predation\, the birds’ place at the top of the food web\, their different hunting adaptations and their status in a rapidly changing world. DESCRIPTION:An outdoor Guided Meditation\, Relaxation and Sound Experience. \n\n\n\n\nSound Healing practitioner Marlene Boyette welcomes all to be held by the earth\, to find refuge\, to rest\, and to be led through a guided meditation intended to bring the mind and the body into unison\, while also engaging the senses. Weaving together the sounds\, vibrations\, and energy of our natural surroundings with a variety of instruments (including deeply resonant crystal and metal singing bowls and chimes)\, participants will be bathed in layered sonic acoustics. \nThe experience will close with an opportunity for all to reflect and set intentions for the new season through dialogue and / or journaling. \nWhat to bring: a yoga mat\, blanket or towel\, a journal\, and writing utensil. DESCRIPTION:Join Stefanie Haug (LICSW)\, ecotherapist and nature and meditation guide for a mindful summer nature walk designed to help you both slow down and “wake up.” Slowly walking together\, participants will engage in pausing to notice budding leaves\, shifting light\, and the quiet hum of renewal. Along the way\, you’ll be guided with simple meditative prompts to reconnect to your breath\, your senses\, and the subtle energy of new beginnings unfolding all around you. As the natural world stretches into bloom all around us\, feel your spirit awaken alongside it. \n\n\nCome as you are. Suitable for all ages and bodies and interests. Slow-paced walk around the cemetery with pauses and a chance to sit and observe.
