SUMMARY:Summer SOLSTICE: Community Nature Mandala
DESCRIPTION:Registration not required. Visit Asa Gray Garden to participate any time between 10:00am-5:00pm. \nJoin artist Elisabeth Gerald as she guides the Mount Auburn community and all Summer SOLSTICE participants in a healing Nature Mandala made from natural objects found at the Cemetery. \nAlso known as Land Art or Environmental Art\, Earth Art is made from organic materials found in nature like stones\, branches\, leaves\, flowers\, feathers\, pinecones\, etc. Creating a Nature Mandala (aka an Earth Art Mandala) is a meditative and often collaborative practice intended to connect you to the environment. \nMandalas\, meaning “circle” in Sanskrit\, are Buddhist devotional images that represent wholeness and are seen as a symbol for infinite connection signifying the transformation from suffering into joy. We hope that creating this Nature Mandala is a unifying and healing experience for all who participate and that it will awaken your imagination and appreciation for the natural world. \nREGISTER HERE>>\n… \nExperience a deeper connection to Mount Auburn Cemetery with free or discounted access to all our public programs and special events by joining the Friends of Mount Auburn. Our robust roster of programs each year is made possible by the generous support of our donors and in part by the Massachusetts Cultural Council. \nFor inquiries about accessibility\, to request an accommodation\, or if you have any questions about your membership\, please contact friends@mountauburn.org. \nMount Auburn is proud to participate in in MCC’s Card to Culture Program.
