DESCRIPTION:An outdoor Guided Meditation\, Relaxation and Sound Experience.  \n\n\nSound Healing practitioner Marlene Boyette welcomes all to be held by the earth\, to find refuge\, to rest\, and to be led through a guided meditation intended to bring the mind and the body into unison\, while also engaging the senses. Weaving together the sounds\, vibrations\, and energy of our natural surroundings with a variety of instruments (including deeply resonant crystal and metal singing bowls and chimes)\, participants will be bathed in layered sonic acoustics.  \n\n\nThe experience will close with an opportunity for all to reflect and set intentions for the new season through dialogue and / or journaling.  \n\n\nWhat to bring: a yoga mat\, blanket or towel\, a journal\, and writing utensil. SUMMARY:Moving Through Grief to Gratitude
DESCRIPTION:“Gratitude and grief may seem to be in tension with one another\, but gratitude and loss are inseparable. Awareness of what is present calls forth what is absent.” –Oren Jay Sofer \nLed by dancer and Artist-in-Residence Lonnie Stanton\, this adult workshop is rooted in yoga\, initiating movement through intentional breathwork. Using somatic* movement techniques\, we will gain full-body awareness that focuses on your internal physical experience. All bodies are welcome! \nMovement and exercise have been known to ease tension in the body and relieve pain. Using simple physical movements and gestures\, we will gently release and exhale what weighs on us and inhale gratitude through the body. She is a professional dancer\, dance educator\, and certified yoga instructor. She currently performs with Jean Appolon Expressions\, Peter DiMuro\, Lynn Modell\, and Continuum Dance. Formerly\, she worked as a performer and teacher for 10 years with Prometheus Dance. Lonnie is passionate about sharing dance in unconventional\, often outdoor spaces where a broad audience can be reached. In 2022\, she was awarded the Live Arts Boston Grant with The Click for her site-responsive augmented reality dance installation\, Emotive Land. In 2021\, she choreographed auditory movement maps for American Repertory Theater’s Arboretum Experience. DESCRIPTION:Writing while grieving has been known to boost the immune system and increase mood and well-being. Writing can also help release difficult emotions and is a tool for self-expression. \n\n\nJoin poet\, educator\, and artivist Amanda Shea in a poetry writing workshop about healing from grief. The workshop will include a meditation\, writing prompts\, and an invitation to share with the group.
