SUMMARY:Outdoor Watercolor & Sketch Class

Clipboards with paper and pencils will be provided. \nThere will also be folding chairs to sit on at the class location. \nRecommended: Bring a water bottle and supplies from the list below. \nBathrooms and a water bottle filling station are located at the meeting location\, near Story Chapel. SUMMARY:Printing With the Sun: Cyanotypes Book Talk & Workshop with Madge Evers
DESCRIPTION:Join author and artist Madge Evers to celebrate the release of Printing With the Sun: Capturing the Beauty of Nature With Cyanotypes. \n\n\n\n\nJoin author and former Artist-in-Residence Madge Evers (2022-2023) to celebrate the release of Printing With the Sun: Capturing the Beauty of Nature With Cyanotypes. Madge will talk about her book\, share her own history with the cyanotype process\, and introduce its 19th-century origins. She will then conduct a live demonstration of how the process works. Finally\, Madge will also provide an opportunity for attendees to enjoy a simple hands-on activity\, creating a cyanotype bookmark to take home. \nCyanotypes are one of the oldest photographic printing processes in the history of photography. The distinctive feature of the print is its shade of cyan blue\, which results from its exposure to ultraviolet light. \nCyanotypes were first introduced by the astronomer\, scientist\, and botanist John Herschel in 1841. The cyanotype process was later used by botanist Anna Atkins Atkins to make the first ever photographic book in 1843. \nCheck in for this event will be in Story Chapel. \nEvent capacity limited to 20 participants. \n\n\nREGISTER HERE>>\n  \nExperience a deeper connection to Mount Auburn Cemetery with free or discounted access to all our public programs and special events by joining the Friends of Mount Auburn. SUMMARY:Evy in the Garden
DESCRIPTION: A transformative performance on grief\, created by composer\, poet\, and producer\, Carolyn Surrick\, accompanied by actress Laurie O’Brien.\n\n\n\n\nThis spare and stunning new work by Carolyn Surrick is a window into a family’s grief\, a poignant reminder of the unending boundaries of love\, a vehicle for memory\, and a place where words and music meet to make room for the aching heart. \nActress Laurie O’Brien and Surrick’s viola da gamba bring to life the southern Maryland summer days that follow the sudden death of a young man. In the same way that the most beautiful and most terrible things often stand side by side\, so this quiet testament to life\, family\, and sorrow\, examines a road winding from tragedy to grace \nThis performance will be held on Sunday\, March 22 at 3:00pm. Space is limited\, Ticket Required. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nThank you to our sponsors! \n\nW.
