The “Not So Rich and Famous”
Stories of the Working Class who Built our City
Just as the rich and famous were buried at Mount Auburn, so were the “not so rich and famous” – the butchers, bakers, candlestick makers…or in our case, the cigar makers, furriers, midwives, miners, fishermen, clothiers, hatters, and horse carriage conductors. Join Carol Harper and Helen Abrams to investigate the post-Industrial Revolution era and celebrate the lives of the immigrants and others who worked and raised families while building the economies of Boston and Cambridge.
