Nathaniel Hawthorne once wrote that Mount Auburn Cemetery is “justly celebrated as the most interesting object of the kind in our country.” Though he is buried in Concord’s equally celebrated Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, it was 150 years ago this year that Hawthorne died. Celebrate the famous author’s life and career by learning about his connections to Mount Auburn and to those interred here in this walking tour. Led by literary historianĀ Rob Velella.
