Mount Auburn: A Photographer’s Paradise
Due to the forecasted thunderstorms, this program has been postponed to Sunday, September 29 at 8:30 AM.
If you are interested in nature and landscape photography, join Volunteer Docent Helen Abrams (Newton Camera Club member) and John “Garp” Harrison on a walk to discover some of the beautiful locations for taking photographs at the Cemetery. Whether you use a “point and shoot” or a digital SLR, bring your camera and enjoy the beauty of this amazing landscape. Along the way we’ll share some of the significant photographs taken at Mount Auburn over the years, including 19th-century daguerrotypes and 20th-century aerial shots. John will describe his perspectives and experiences shooting wildlife (primarily birds) at MAC in all seasons while Helen will share highlights of the natural landscape and mention/visit some of the famous photographers buried here.
