Due to the threat of thunderstorms, tomorrow’s (5/20) “Genius at Mount Auburn Cemetery” walk is canceled and will be rescheduled at a later date. Make sure to check our website and social media for the announcement of the rescheduled date.

We apologize for any inconvenience and do hope you will join us for another walking tour in nicer weather.

The Friends of Mount Auburn

Among the many talented and accomplished people buried at Mount Auburn Cemetery, a small number stand out for their exceptional contributions to the world. These brilliant men and women include scientist Millie Dresselhaus, painter Winslow Homer, inventor Edwin Land and computer scientist Claude Shannon, the father of Information Theory. Join volunteer docent Marilee O’Brien for a walk to visit the graves of these remarkable people who have influenced our lives and changed the world.
