- April 26 @ 5:00 pm
- April 26 @ 6:00 pm
Dr. Oliver Wendell Holmes (1809-1894) is best known as the author of the poem “Old Ironsides” or perhaps as the titular “Autocrat of the Breakfast-Table.” Despite the physician-turned-poet being one of the most popular figures in American literature in his day, a substantial number of his poems share his personal associations with friends like James Russell Lowell and Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. Join literary historian Rob Velella for an exploration of these poems of friendship in this virtual event.
