100th Armistice Remembrance Day
Armistice or Remembrance Day celebrates the end of hostilities of World War I “at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month” of 1918. Join volunteer docent Stephen Pinkerton and veteran volunteer Bill McEvoy in a tribute to Mount Auburn Cemetery’s civilian and military veterans of World War I on the 99th anniversary of Veteran’s Day. Meet in Story Chapel at 10:45 am for a ceremonial bell ringing at 11:00, followed by visits to the graves of notable participants.
Experience a deeper connection to Mount Auburn Cemetery with free access to all our public programs and discounts on special events by joining the Friends of Mount Auburn. Our robust roster of programs each year is made possible through your generous support.
