Artist-in-Residence Roberto Mighty will present his final transmedia exhibition (video, audio, music and online) “earth.sky” in Story Chapel. This updated, complete production encompasses 35 short films and artistic biographies. Roberto’s newest additions to earth.sky include transmedia impressions of Claude Elwood Shannon, one of America’s greatest mathematicians and cryptographers; Mary Edmonia Lewis, an African-American sculptor who rose to fame after the Civil War era; George Thorndike Angell, a philanthropist and co-founder of the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals; Dorothea Lynde Dix, a nineteenth-century crusader for the mentally ill; Gaetane Aline Scouras, an entrepreneur who also held multiple patents for her work in telecommunications technology; and Pamela Gail Dempsey, a modern-day attorney who advocated for the rights of abused and neglected children; and extended visual/aural explorations of Mount Auburn’s landscape, horticulture and trees.
