Literary Lunch Lecture: The Past as a Plot Device: Writing Historical Fiction

September 15, 2017

Robin Hazard Ray’s murder mystery, The Strangers’ Tomb, set in Cambridge’s historic Mount Auburn Cemetery, takes place in the tumultuous period before the Civil War in Boston, as Irish immigrants, fugitive slaves, and ambitious scientists jostle for survival among the fading but still-powerful Puritan aristocracy.  Robin will read from her novel and share what goes into researching and writing a historical fiction novel with real characters and places.  Meet at Story Chapel; bring a brown bag lunch.
